TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF REHABILITATION WITH CLOSE-FIT SWAGELINING
in accordance with PN-EN 752-2; 752-5, 13689 and PN-EN ISO 11296-1, 11296-3
MATERIAL
In the SWAGELINING method of pipeline rehabilitation with close-fit pipe lining we use polyethylene pipes whose dimension is reduced at the construction site. Due to installation safety we use pipes made of PE100.
LINER INSTALLATION EQUIPMENT
- cleaning machine (jetting truck, scraper)
- remote controlled inspection camera
- remote controlled milling equipment
- pipe welding equipment (butt- and electrofusion welding machines)
- guiding rollers
- swaging unit
- hoisting machine (winch)
- by-pass equipment (pumps, hoses)
- test equipment
PREPARATION FOR THE INSTALLATION
Before starting rehabilitation appropriate by-passes must be constructed (if required) to ensure the supply of appropriate utilities. After a section of the pipeline is taken out of service we clean it and inspect with a remote-controlled camera. The analysis of the video (or DVD) from the sewer inspection forms the basis to create a detailed computer report on the technical condition of the pipeline.
INSTALLATION
The first stage involves the preparation of a sufficiently long section of PE pipe for installation (by welding the required number of prefabricated sections) and placing such lining on installation rollers. The principle of SWAGELINING consists in temporary deformation of the lining by reducing its diameter which results in its elongation. The purpose of this is to make it easier to insert the prepared section of lining into the old pipeline.
During the process towing force is controlled all the time, preventing PE material from excessive stretching. Having completed the installation, towing force is removed from the earlier deformed pipe, and it returns to its original dimensions due to internal tension existing in the lining. This results in a tight-fit of the PE pipe to the walls of the rehabilitated pipeline, so called close-fit.
CONTROL
CCTV INSPECTION
Once the installation is finished and drains are opened a CCTV acceptance inspection is made and recorded on a DVD or another storage medium. At the same time an inspection report is prepared.
TESTS
In accordance with PN-EN ISO 11296-1, 11296-4.
APPLICATION
Diameter range: DN400 – DN1000 Industrial, gas, water, and pressure sewer networks. Diameter range: DN100 – DN400 Gravity sewer networks.
DEFECT REMEDIATION
Any defects are made good with the help of a camera-controlled robot and/or by patching with short sections of the pipe liner.
